Los Haitises and Cayo Levantado Together

Nature plus a beach contrast

Los Haitises is mangrove, karst and caves — a boat day with a park character. Cayo Levantado is the small-island, beach-style contrast in the bay. Putting them in one cruise call means you want both a nature focus and a slower island stop, not one or the other.

That mix is attractive on a map. On a ship day it is a fuller commitment: two moods, two kinds of stopping, and less slack if the first part runs long. A tender arrival, a weather delay, or a group that moves slowly can erase the second half without anyone having “done it wrong”.

Trade-off against choosing one

• One topic leaves a clearer return to the ship. Two topics spend the margin that a port guide would tell you to keep.
• Los Haitises alone is the better choice if caves and mangroves are the reason you are looking at Samaná.
• Cayo Levantado alone is the better choice if the group wants a quieter water day and will be disappointed by wet landings and limited sand time.

Who might still consider both themes
