A land day, not a bay day

The waterfall sits inland from the Samaná waterfront, in humid, green country. Reaching it means leaving town. That is the planning point. It is not a stroll from the pier, and it is not the same outing as Los Haitises or Cayo Levantado.

People describe the approach as a path through wet forest, sometimes with horses used by local arrangements, sometimes on foot. This page does not confirm which option exists on your date, who provides it, or what it includes. If you go, ask those questions of the people you are actually with.

Terrain, footwear and who it suits
